Housing 2025 Preview: Six Things To Look Out For

The annual Housing Exhibition & Conference is fast approaching, and with more sessions, speakers, and standout moments packed into three days than ever before, we’ve taken the liberty of pulling together a handy shortlist of highlights we think are well worth carving out time for.

Here are six sessions at Housing 2025 that should be firmly on your radar…

In Conversation with Daniel Hewitt

Tuesday 25 June, 12:45 – 13:30
Fringe Festival Stage

If you caught ITV’s hard-hitting docuseries Trapped: Britain’s Housing Scandal, you’ll already know that Daniel Hewitt doesn’t pull any punches. His relentless investigations have put national attention squarely on the most unacceptable housing conditions in the UK and has shone a light on the factors that have led to such situations arising.

At Housing 2025, Daniel will be in conversation with Inside Housing’s Katharine Swindells for what’s bound to be a compelling session exploring housing justice, reform, and what needs to change next. If there’s one person who can hold up a mirror to the sector and inspire real action, it’s that man Dan.

Beyond Repairs: Tackling Damp and Mould Through a Customer-First Approach

Tuesday 25 June, 11:30 – 12:15
Insights Stage

Damp and mould – two words that continue to cause a disproportionate amount of grief across the sector. But what if we flipped the script?

This panel discussion, featuring Mobysoft’s very own Abigail Seward and Suzy Thomas alongside sector leaders from Raven Housing Trust and Greatwell Homes, explores how landlords can put tenants at the heart of their damp & mould strategies. Expect insights into data-driven case management, real-time visibility of WIP, and how to shift from reactive fixes to wraparound prevention. A must-attend for anyone serious about improving TSMs and getting ahead of the new consumer standards.

Inside Housing and Leadership 2025 Drinks Reception

Wednesday 25 June, 16:30 – 17:30
Fringe Festival, Main Showfloor

Let’s face it—networking events aren’t always a highlight. But when you throw in England legend John Barnes MBE and the always-brilliant Kunle Barker, you’ve got yourself a standout social event.

Hosted by Inside Housing editor Martin Hilditch, this promises to be an upbeat mix of celebration and inspiration. Come for the drinks, stay for the stories, and leave with a few more LinkedIn connections than you came with. You never know – if you ask John nicely he might do the EnglandNewOrder rap

The Meaning of Home

Wednesday 25 June, 14:30 – 15:15
Fringe Festival Stage

Home. We talk about it every day—but how often do we stop and unpack what it really means?

This thought-provoking panel features author Kieran Yates, Centre for Homelessness Impact’s Molly Bishop, and Tom Fisher from the GM Good Landlord Charter team. Together, they’ll explore the personal, political, and emotional weight of “home” in modern Britain—and what the sector needs to do to ensure everyone has access to one that’s safe, stable, and suitable.

Good Landlord Charter Launch

Thursday 26 June, 13:30 – 15:00
Fringe Festival Stage

We’ve been hearing murmurs about it for months, but now it’s official: Greater Manchester’s Good Landlord Charter is being launched live at Housing 2025. And who better to kick things off than Andy Burnham himself?

This landmark initiative is set to reshape the expectations for rental standards across both social and private sectors. If you want to get to grips with what the Charter involves—and what it might mean for your organisation—this session is the one to watch.

Stop Social Housing Stigma: Learning from the Sector’s Pioneers

Thursday 26 June, 12:30 – 13:15
Tenant Voice and Housing Quality Stage

Stigma around social housing remains one of the sector’s most persistent issues—but there are solutions, and this session explores one of the most promising.

The Stop Social Housing Stigma Campaign has developed a sector-first “Tackling Stigma Journey Planner” to help organisations challenge negative perceptions head-on. With speakers from Progress Housing and campaign leads, this session dives into how landlords can treat tenants with fairness and respect—while staying on the right side of regulatory requirements.

Should you manage to catch all of these sessions, please do let us know, because we’ll be nominating you to help coordinate the train timetable for next year’s HS2. But if your diary’s looking tight, we highly recommend prioritising as many as possible—each one shines a spotlight on the sector’s biggest challenges, and the practical solutions emerging in response.

Naturally, we’d also encourage you to join us for one (or all!) of Mobysoft’s speaking sessions on the Insights Stage—and if you can only make time for one, then our damp & mould-focused discussion is the one to circle in red. AI is set to revolutionise service delivery, and we’ll be sharing what that means in practice for housing providers right now.
