A short conversation with Head of Quality Engineering, Tariq Malik. Tariq lives in Ashton-Under-Lyne with his wife and three children. Tariq is the middle child of 7 children, and he is looking forward to seeing them again after Covid.

Tell us a little about yourself.

Tariq Malik:

All my brothers work in technology and it is something I really enjoy and always wanted to do. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering in the community. My family and I sponsor 12 children in India and Pakistan to support them with their studies, having lost their families in an earthquake.

What are you looking forward to doing most when lockdown eases?

Tariq Malik:

Going to see family. We had a trip planned to the USA to see family and we cannot wait to get across to Chicago

In a sentence what is the purpose of your role?

Tariq Malik:

Assuring we develop quality products and release them with the highest level of accuracy and confidence within schedule and budget.

What does your role involve in terms of tasks and activities?

Tariq Malik:

Conducting rigorous testing throughout the development process, identifying potential issues and reporting them back to development teams; Developing and executing Test strategy and Resource Planning; Developing and improving QA & Development Processes and Procedures ; managing the day-to-day activities of QA team members of Rentsense and Repairsense; conducting employee training and evaluation and hiring and onboarding New team members ; Test Automation – signing off Releases on behalf of Mobysoft; Engagement with 3rd parties vendors; tech Transformation; Technical Leadership Team member in Technology Department.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Tariq Malik:

Working with the best people within QA, all the team are supportive this is one of our biggest strengths.
